Soo, ich fuehle mich guut. Hey, I'm back to civilization! I saw people today, lots of people. And so different people! Yeah, you guessed right, I was in a city. A real city! Just hit me how quiet (what a nice word) Naples is. And I saw buses (!). AND the metrorail! And guess what, we USED it!

Wow, I feel SO good. But apparently Miami is veery dangerous (like any other city - they treated me like I had never even seen a bus before. Or homeless people. Especially my hostgrandmom, who told me about a hundred times not to talk to strangers and watch out for my purse etc. Cute.

However, this city is GREAT. We went to visit one of the uncles who works in one of the tallest building in downtown Miami. The building has glass walls so we had a fantastic view over downtown Miami, Miami Beach and Key Virginia and Key Biscayne. Unbelievable. I got cool pics too but I forgot my jack at home so you happen to get them later, sorry.
Then we walked down do Bayside and went a little shopping; Emmie and Melissa got Henna tattoos and we had a good time. I even got you guys some mean post cards =P
Anyway, it felt really good to be with people again; Miami is really different from Naples and it's just an american metropole; did you know that Miami was pronounced a city in only 1903? And only 30% of Miami's population is White, the rest is Hispanic or African American. One of Emmies friends was with us, she lives in Miami Beach and told us (especially me because Emmie and Melissa know, of course, they lived there until just 3 years ago) all this insider stuff. Maybe it IS more dangerous than german metropoles, it was really cool to listen to her and not to any tourist guides who tell stories from about 30 years ago.

However, we're gonna go to her house tomorrow because she lives right on the beach and I think we're gonna have a lot of fun! It's absolutely beautiful here and I'm really enjoying my time. Wish some of you guys could be here with me, would make it even cooler =)

As I said, you get the pictures when I get home to Naples because I forgot the jack for my camera.

Alrighty folks, have to go now.
Wish you all the best!!
Love and I miss you!
Julia

P.S. Can't get over how afraid these people are of their own town; they are afraid of everything! They don't let us out whenit's dark, not even to walk across the street. I'm being seriuos, Corissa wanted to meet her grandmother just half a block farther from here at around 6:30 p.m. and they took her there by car. And many teens aren't even allowed to go downtown for shopping during the day; people are scared. As I asked my host sisters if they didn't want to go out at night, they looked at me like I was on speed or something and said they even didn't think about that. Hm, okay. Guess we have some culture 'shock' here... I really didn't see anything bad today and I would really like to go out at night just to see what it is like... But don't worry, mommy, there is no chance I get outta here, ever.
Luv ya!
